About Randy
I'm a full-time husband, father and businessman. I've lived here in the 14th Congressional District most of my life, and I currently reside in Winfield with my wife Christy and four children.
I've been a Republican Precinct Committeeman for the last 20 years, and for the last 12 years I've commuted to Springfield as a part-time member of the General Assembly.
I've been consistently recognized by groups like the National Federation of Independent Business, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, and the Illinois Crime Commission; I was also recently endorsed by both Illinois Citizens for Life and the Illinois Federation for Right to Life.
Some of my legislative accomplishments in Springfield include:
Winning passage of medical malpractice reforms. Sponsoring property tax assessment freeze for disabled vets. Fighting the Blagojevich Gross Receipts Tax. Co-sponsoring legislation to allow voters to recall state elected officials. Passed legislation to keep DUI offenders off our roads. Passed legislation to protect seniors from identity theft, the fastest growing crime in the nation. Working with law enforcement to notify libraries of sex offenders living in the district. Working to give tools to police to catch internet predators.It took the efforts of many to get us to victory tonight and I owe all of you a huge debt of gratitude. To all of the voters, the volunteers, my family, staff and all of my supporters, thank you!
As we look to November, I ask you to join me in the fight to return our values to Washington. This has been a spirited competition to earn your nomination; my opponent graciously offered his support, and I now ask his supporters to join us in taking this district back.
I pledge to put forth a tireless effort to win on November 2. But, as it took the effort of many to win the primary election, it will take even more who are also dedicated to our conservative values in order to win the general election.

“The NRA Political Victory Fund urges all NRA members and other gun owners and sportsmen in Illinois’ fourteenth congressional district to vote for Randy Hultgren in the Republican primary election on February 2,” said Cunningham.
The paper went on to say Randy would “make a fine representative for the district, helping to lead government to become more fiscally responsible.” Adding, “Hultgren already has been a leader. We endorse Hultgren.“
Hultgren Endorsed by Daily Herald, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune
State Senator Randy Hultgren earned the endorsements of the Chicago Sun-Times, The Daily Herald, and the Chicago Tribune this week.
The Daily Herald noted, “District Republicans must decide who is best to take on Foster in the November general election… We believe that person is State Senator Randy Hultgren of Winfield.”
The Sun-Times stated, “the choice is an easy one… Hultgren is a firm Conservative” and that “his legislative experience combined with his background as a lawyer and investment adviser makes Hultgren a logical choice for our endorsement.”
The Chicago Tribune endorsed Hultgren because he “…has an excellent record as a pro-jobs, pro-business legislator…”
“I am honored that our three major newspapers have endorsed me based on my record of passing common-sense conservative reforms as a citizen legislator, however, the most important endorsement is that of the voters of the 14th district I hope to earn on February 2,” said Hultgren.
Additionally, Randy Hultgren has been endorsed by the Illinois Federation for Right to Life Pac, Illinois Citizens for Life Pac, Tax Accountability/National Taxpayers United of Illinois, Family Pac, the American Conservative Union, Concerned Women for America, the Eagle Forum and the Illinois State Rifle Association.
Saying “Hultgren is a firm conservative” and that “the choice is an easy one,” the Sun-Times today stated “We endorse state Sen. Randall M. “Randy” Hultgren of Winfield.“
Chicago Tribune Endorses Randy Hultgren for the 14th Congressional District
Today the Chicago Tribune endorsed Randy Hultgren for Congress in the 14th District.
The Tribune noted Randy: “…has an excellent record as a pro-jobs, pro-business legislator. He says ‘…the top priority and major impetus for my entire congressional campaign is to restore fiscal sanity in Washington.’ Cheers! Hultgren is endorsed.“
Voters Forum in Saint Charles
Randy answers questions from journalists and the audience at the Geneva & Saint Charles League of Women Voters’ Forum.
“When we’ve attacked the private sector and put more fees and taxes and burdens on them, they’ve chosen to leave the state of Illinois,” Hultgren said. “The same thing is happening to the United States of America.“
“Senator Hultgren has been a staunch advocate for motorcycle rights throughout his public service in the state house and state senate. FEDPAC believes Senator Hultgren will continue to support and advocate for motorcycle riders throughout his continued public service and deserves the full support of all motorcycle riders in his district and Illinois.”

Randy answering questions at Don and Jeff Jones’ DeKalb Forge. The “Cap and Trade” bill going through Congress is a major concern to Illinois manufacturers like Don and Jeff Jones. Their local manufacturing business provides jobs for the hard working residents of DeKalb, but it and others like it are being threatened by bills like Cap and Trade which penalize companies and workers for their economic productivity.
