My Commitment to You
That’s why the vast majority of all Americans want to have faith restored in their elected officials, confidence again that the government is on their side, and to know once more that our system of free-enterprise is ensuring we’re leaving the next generation of Americans with more wealth and opportunity than the generation that came before us.
I firmly believe that legislative office is a service to the people and I’m proud of my record of service over the last 16 years. In addition to being a full time husband, father and businessman, I’ve also served our community as a member of the forest preserve commission, on the county board, and in the State House and State Senate.
Illinois, and specifically our community, is where I grew up, where my parents started our family business, where I went to school, where I started my professional career, and where my wife and I are now raising our four wonderful children. I know how important it is to have a strong community that’s empowered with good schools, good jobs, safe neighborhoods and an affordable cost of living.
As a businessman and investment advisor, I know that the strength of our economy and the engine of job-creation are our local businesses and entrepreneurs, not government bureaucrats in Washington. As a husband and father, I know that family, friendship and community are the true foundations of better neighborhoods and schools, not federal departments thousands of miles away.
I pledge to be a Congressman committed and responsible to the people of the 14th District by representing you and your values. The election this fall represents an opportunity to choose between two very different values systems and two very different visions for our future:
• Do we want a vision that seeks to accelerate business and job growth? Or do we want to keep the path we’re on where the only thing growing is government?
• Do we want a vision that seeks to empower the individual? Or do we want to stay on the current path that seeks to empower Washington?
• Do we want a vision that values freedom? Or do we want to stay on the path we’re on and value “collectivism.”
Our choice in the upcoming election will have implications not only for our children, but for their children as well. I’m confident that a positive message that America’s best days are ahead of her, and common-sense policies that restore economic growth and confidence in government is what we all want for our country. Working together we can ensure that our best days really do lie ahead.
